Studies show that lignans, a class of phytoestrogens, have a positive, balancing effect on hormone levels in men and women. Lignan Research is particularly focused on advancing the beneficial properties found specifically in SDG (secoisolariciresinol diglycoside) lignan, linked to risk reduction of estrogen-related cancers. Through its pioneering technology, the company has created the first solution to meet the significant challenge of achieving optimal levels of lignan on a daily basis.Breakthrough Health StrategyLignan Research is the worlds first company to isolate, concentrate, purify and standardize lignans at commercial scale. After a long-term research effort and extensive human oral dosing studies, the company will debut Brevail®, the only supplement designed specifically for proactive breast health. Distinguished as one of the most thoroughly researched and tested new nutracueticals in industry history, Brevail provides women a new strategy in maintaining exceptional health and will be available nationwide in Summer 2003. A Leader in Proactive HealthLignan Research founder and CEO, Jade Beutler, is a licensed health care practitioner with more than a decade of hospital and clinical experience. In 1994, Beutler left a senior management position at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center to form NatureMed Research Inc. (NMR), a consulting company dedicated to the research and development of phyto-pharmaceuticals. NMR began focusing specifically on the SDG lignan, because of its promising cancer prevention properties. To develop techniques that isolated lignans from natural sustainable sources, Beutler collaborated with Dr. Norman Lewis, one of the worlds leading experts on lignans, and the director of the Institute of Biological Chemistry at Washington State University. Lignan Research was formed in 1997 and subsequently won two consecutive Biotechnology Research Grants from The Washington Technology Center (WTC). Beutler was instrumental in creating the first global alliance of leading lignan experts, focused exclusively on the isolation of lignans from flaxseed at commercial scale. Beutler leads the companys research and development initiatives in his quest to provide products and education that help others improve their quality of life. Central to Beutlers long-term vision is a balanced approach that incorporates new proactive health alternatives and creates a culture shift around proactive prevention versus reactive treatment. Through the advances of Lignan Research, Beutler is raising awareness of the benefits of combining natural solutions with science for overall vitality. Promoting Prevention from the HeartRaymond Palys was named president of Lignan Research in April 2001, and brings extensive strategic planning and management expertise in the health care, manufacturing and service industries.
